After years of hectic travels around the world Daniele Cestari stops at last, and comes home.
This exhibition allows viewers to analyse for the first time the other side of a universe of visions and feelings that make up the hidden premise to the deep poetics of the author.
Urban chaos and its deafening noise, which were Cestari’s preferred scenery for so long, are now paired up with a series of quiet and rarefied works, in which the Emilian countryside, where the author was born and returns to, is the absolute protagonist.
Travel and urban congestion, well expressed in the works on display depicting towns and urban scenery, are now set against a static contemplation of a snowy winter and virtually no time, where every sensation is returned to the viewer hushed and muffled.
This clear comparison brings out the deeply emotional intensity of Cestari’s work, that Flaminio Gualdoni – one of the most renowned Italian critics – once defined having “the chrism of the unordinary quality”.
